We pick five players who we think deserve a chance in the England team following their underwhelming performance against France in the Autumn Nations Cup final.
1. Joe Simmonds for George Ford
If recent performances are anything to go by, School chums Farrell and Ford need a kick up the backside. The England captain seems to have forgotten how to kick at goal and somehow missed nine tackles against Wales and France while Ford displayed as much attacking intent as Scooby Doo face-to-face with a ghost.
They’re both squeaky clean and good professionals but it’s gone stale and who can blame them after seven-ish years.
Simmonds was on top form again this weekend and has been a joy to watch in the Premiership for a while now. It might cheer fans up to see them bring that flair to the international stage.
