Here, we take a look at five of the players who may have played their final international game after falling out of favour or succumbing to injury problems.
#1. Leigh Halfpenny (Wales)
The 32-year-old suffered a serious knee injury as he made his 100th Test appearance in the 68-12 win against Canada back in July. No time scale has been given on a return, putting his international future in serious doubt.
Halfpenny went under the knife soon after with the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) saying further assessments will be required to determine his long-term prognosis and management.
