LIST | Three disastrous England debuts

2. Toby Flood

His awful debut: The youngster made an inauspicious start to his international career against Argentina in 2006. After replacing Charlie Hodgson, he threw an inaccurate pass which Federico Todeschini intercepted before racing 70m to score. He then missed a crucial conversion as Argentina went onto win 25-18, condemning England to a record seventh straight defeat. Flood as England teammates were booed by the Twickenham faithful at full time.

What happened after? At international level Flood played for England Under-20s, and made 60 full international appearances. These included the 2007 Rugby World Cup final, before his move to France in 2014 made him ineligible for further selection.
