“Lucky boy” – All Blacks furious as Wayne Barnes celebrates with Ireland

All Blacks supporters have never been huge fans of Wayne Barnes since his controversial decision led to them being dumped out of the 2007 Rugby World Cup.

And they had a number of issues with his decisions once again as Ireland held off a ferocious All Blacks fightback to claim a sensational, unprecedented 2-1 series win in New Zealand.

Barnes came under fire for not yellow carding Bundee Aki for direct contact to the Ofa Tuungafasi’s head with his shoulder. The centre was not even penalised.

The fact that minutes later Aki accidentally hugged Barnes following Ireland’s fourth and decisive try won’t have improved the mood of the Kiwi faithful.
