Mourad Boudjellal pours cold water on Toulon rumours

Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal has poured cold water over reports that Diego Dominguez is set to leave the club before taking charge.

Speculation began on Sunday suggesting that Dominguez would be dismissed over internal disagreements between the club’s coaching staff.

Stuart Lancaster, the former England head coach, and Graham Henry have subsequently been linked with taking over at the club, with Lancaster reportedly set to meet with Boudjellal on Thursday.

However, Boudjellal’s quashing of those rumours on Tuesday may mean that there will be no changes at the club at all ahead of the new season.

“I deny all the reports in the press from over the last few days,” Boudjellal said at a press conference on Tuesday to unveil the signing of Vincent Clerc.

“There are assumptions which have become assertions which have become statements all happening while the club has made no official communication.

“No one has been fired, there are just ongoing discussions to improve things internally. Diego Dominguez and Jacques Delmas have not left yet.”
