In the dying minutes of a Pro 12 clash between Leinster and Scarlets, ball boy Joe Downey attempted to throw the ball to the Scarlets players in order to take a penalty.
The ball however struck Nigel Owens in the back, triggering rugby comedy gold and yet another highlight for the referee’s already bursting library of memorable moments.
This is why rugby is the greatest team sport in the world. Anyone know the ballboy? Will send him my match Jersey to keep. #goodsporthttps://t.co/2Hk2zjXIcI

With the help of his Twitter army, Owens was able to make contact with the sin-binned ball boy and has now sent him match jersey.
Thanks all for your help. Have made contact with the ball boy and the jersey will be posted to him asap. Washed of course 😃. #rugbyfamily https://t.co/NvGbmzHjRq
