Stuart Hogg has shut down a report linking the Scotland fullback with a move to Japan when his contract at Exeter runs out.
Speaking to Rugby Pass, Laidlaw said: “I have spoken to Stuart a few times – and a couple of other players as well,
“It seems they like the sound of the short seasons in Japan.
“Stuart is still in contract at Exeter as far as I’m aware, but I have spoken to a few players who are turning their heads and are potentially looking for something different. It is a great place to come and play for a few years, especially if like me you are at the end of your career.”
Nevertheless, Hogg took to his Instagram to rubbish the report.
“Nonsense like this doesn’t help in the slightest,” wrote Hogg on Instagram.
“I’d be lying to say I haven’t spoken to Green about his life in Japan, as a mate and admirer of his career,”
“I care about the petit general. But, I won’ be going anywhere near Japan as I don’t believe it’s the right thing for me or my family.”
