“One Call Up” – Mia Venner Joins Red Roses Camp In Women’s Six Nations Squad Update

Thirty-five players will assemble today, for a three-day Red Roses training camp in the 2024 Women’s Six Nations fallow week. England head coach John Mitchell has named one call-up to the squad, with Gloucester-Hartpury scrum half Mia Venner joining the wider training group for the ongoing tournament.

Venner has previously been capped by England, and achieved the accolade at the age of just 17-years-old. The halfback made her debut for the Red Roses in the 2020 Women’s Six Nations against Wales, where she came off the bench for a full second half run-out in the 66-7 victory at the Stoop.

Venner has been a key member of the Cherry and Whites of Gloucester-Hartpury since her club debut in 2019. The scrum-half marked the milestone with a hat-trick of tries, as she bagged a trio against Worcester Warriors Women for an unforgettable first outing. Venner competes against Red Roses scrum half Natasha ‘Mo’ Hunt for the Gloucester-Hartpury nine jersey, and was apart of the squad that won the 2022/23 Allianz Premier 15s title.
