“One Club Philosophy” – Sale Sharks Women Change Match Location to Support Men’s Side in Premiership Final

Sale Sharks Women have confirmed that their upcoming Allianz Premier 15s match against Gloucester-Hartpury has been relocated, so that the Sharks Women can support the Men’s side in the 2023 Gallagher Premiership Final.

The fixture has been re-located to the Richmond Athletic Ground, the co-home of RFU Championship clubs Richmond and London Scottish. The match will also have an earlier kick off time of 11:30am, so that the Sale Women’s players are able head of to Twickenham Stadium in due time for kick-off.

The match is a Sale Sharks ‘home match’ on paper, meaning that it was originally set to be held at Sale’s Heywood Road. The move has received a generally positive response on social media, praising the cooperativeness of the two clubs, the stadium and the Allianz Premier 15s league.

However, pockets of the fanbase are understandably unable to make the journey down to London to watch their side. #NorthernRugbyMatters has gained a great deal of traction throughout the past Gallagher Premiership and Allianz Premier 15s seasons, with the hashtag once again being used following this announcement.
