Referee Luke Pearce will be taking charge of his very first Premiership Rugby Final this Saturday, as Saracens take on Sale Sharks at Twickenham Stadium.
The 35-year-old is considered one of the world’s best on the whistle, with support pouring in for him on social media. Premiership rugby fans will be familiar with Pearce, as the referee has been a mainstay in the English top flight since 2011.
Pearce was recently confirmed to be heading to France for the 2023 Rugby World Cup, as part of the refereeing and officiating team. He will be going to the pinnacle event for the second time in his career, alongside the likes of Wayne Barnes and Jaco Payper.

Pearce’s first Premiership match was between Gloucester Rugby and Worcester Warriors in 2009, and the Devon native has only pressed on from there. He refereed his first European match in November 2011, when he took charge of Stade Francais’ Challenge Cup victory over the Burcuresti Wolves.
