Out with the Old: A Starting XV of Ex-Leicester Players Still in the Gallagher Premiership

Several players let go by Leicester Tigers are still in the Gallagher Premiership and they make up a very talented first XV as well.

They’d have a very talented backline with Saracens speedster Alex Lewington starting at fullback to accommodate Henry Purdy and powerhouse Vereniki Goneva out wide with the latter winning Premiership player of the year last season.

60-cap England international Toby Flood and Owen Williams combine to form a creative midfield partnership while former fan favourite Freddie Burns takes the number 10 shirt and the always reliable Micky Young starts at scrum-half.

Logovi’i Mulipola, who can play on either side of the scrum, starts at loosehead with George McGuigan and Kieran Brookes completing an impressive front-row.

Former captain Ed Slater and Dom Barrow partner up in the second-row with Jamie Gibson, Harry Thacker and Jordan Crane completing the selection.

Although Thacker is now a hooker, he has played flanker in the past and we were desperate.
