Former England and Wasps winger could be set for a shock return after his NFL dream came to an end after being released by the Buffalo Bills.
The 30-year-old, who quit rugby in 2018 after he became frustrated with his international exile, has already been linked with a move to Leicester Tigers.
As first reported by the Coventry Telegraph, former teammate and good friend Tom Varndell revealed that Wade has had offers previously and could potentially be tempted into a return.
“Christian was in unbelievable form when he stepped away from rugby union,” said Varndell, who has become an agent since hanging up his boots.
“Obviously, there are rumours that are circulating. I am very close to Chris anyway, with everything that’s going on with the NFL at the moment and him being released by the Bills
“Watch this space, because you just never know, he might pop back up and I might end up being third place in a couple of years’ time.”
DID YOU KNOW? One-cap wonder Wade was selected for the second game against Argentina the following week but withdrew from the team when he was called up to join the 2013 British & Irish Lions tour to Australia.
