REPORTS | A second 2020 Six Nations could be played

A ‘second Six Nations’ could be played in November as rugby tries to find a way to mitigate the colossal financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the global game

Reports in the Daily Mail on Tuesday claim contingency plans are being hatched to boost incomes for the home unions if the All Blacks, Wallabies and Springboks cannot travel to Europe for the autumn Tests.

A well-placed source suggested that in the event they cannot travel, matches between the Six Nations teams could be hastily arranged to replace the north-v-south fixtures.

Meanwhile, Premiership Rugby bosses met via conference call on Monday night and will confirm that the domestic season is further postponed.

The English league hoped to resume on April 24 but that has become impossible.
