England’s World Cup plans had reportedly been thrown into further disarray by the departure of another senior member of Eddie Jones’s management team.
Those reports suggested that Dean Benton is due to depart his position as the head of sports science, leaving Jones with another sizeable hole in his backroom staff to fill.
However, an RFU spokesman responded, saying: “Dean Benton is still part of the England set-up — we are not commenting any further at this stage.”
Benton has been with England since 2016, having been hired by Jones from Australian rugby league club Melbourne Storm
