Richie McCaw welcomes third daughter with wife as they share baby’s adorable name

All Blacks legend Richie McCaw has announced the arrival of his third child with his wife Gemma McCaw.

In January 2013 it was reported that he had been seeing hockey player Gemma Flynn for the past six months. McCaw announced his engagement to Flynn in January 2016 before they married on 14 January 2017.

Their first daughter was born in December 2018 before welcoming a second daughter in May 2021.

The 42-year-old – who won back-to-back World Cup’s in 2011 and 2015 – took to his Instagram account earlier this afternoon to share the news of a third daughter with his followers on the platform.

He wrote on Instagram: “Meet our new baby girl, Ella Mae McCaw 🤍

“She was born on 3.4.23 weighing 7lb 10 oz and we are enjoying these precious moments as a family of 5.”

Dusautoir made his international debut against Romania in 2006 before making a name for himself the following year when France stunned New Zealand 20-18 in the World Cup quarter-finals.

The former France skipper also scored a try and was named man of the match in the 2011 World Cup final when New Zealand avenged their defeat of four years earlier with an 8-7 win in the final.

Richie McCaw said: “Over the years I’ve played him a few times and you always know he’s there,” said McCaw of Dusautoir. “He was always pretty big defensively and in the breakdown area. A menace”
