Alan Shearer’s family now has two England rugby players in it after eldest daughter Chloe married former Newcastle Falcons scrum-half Micky Young.
Chloe, 34, and Young, 37, tied the knot at Forcett Hall Estate in North Yorkshire last weekend.
The former England and Newcastle United striker shared a picture from the day with his daughter, writing: “Another weekend. Another daughter’s wedding!!! Stunning. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Young.”
Wedding pictures shared online showed Chloe in a lace dress, with the newlyweds later posing beside a vintage car.
Young is well known to rugby fans in the North East after several spells at Newcastle. The scrum-half also played for Leicester Tigers, Bath, Toulon and Gloucester during a long professional career, while representing England at Sevens and Saxons level.
The couple had been engaged since last November, when Young proposed at Wylam Brewery in Newcastle during an event supporting the Alan Shearer Foundation and My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
A second rugby wedding for Shearer
It is the second Shearer family wedding of the summer.
Chloe’s younger sister, Hollie, married England international Joe Marchant in July before the couple held their main wedding celebration in August.
Marchant has won 22 caps for England and was part of Steve Borthwick’s squad at the 2023 Rugby World Cup. After three seasons with Stade Français, the centre has returned to the PREM with Sale Sharks.
The pair began dating in 2022 and got engaged in Paris. Hollie, a singer and influencer, moved to the French capital while Marchant was playing for Stade Français.
The 31-year-old called Marchant her “best friend” after their legal ceremony earlier this summer.
