In the ceremonial role, Jones acts as an ambassador for the battalion, using his leadership experience to inspire soldiers and strengthen ties between the military and Welsh communities.
While he hasn’t “joined the Army” in a traditional sense, the position reflects his deep connection to service and leadership, values that defined his record-breaking international career.
Off the field, Jones has also entered the drinks industry with the launch of his rum brand, Mimosa Rwm. The coffee-infused rum liqueur was created in 2023 and draws inspiration from Welsh heritage, particularly the historic voyage of the Mimosa voyage that carried settlers from Wales to Patagonia in 1865.
The product has quickly gained traction, landing in major retailers and with Jones actively promoting the brand across Wales.
Combining heritage storytelling with modern branding, the venture shows his ambition beyond rugby. Whether as an honorary colonel or entrepreneur, Jones continues to lead from the front—proving retirement is just the start of a new chapter.
