England's Nations Championship clash against Fiji at Anfield will feature an extended half-time interval after tournament organisers activated the heat protocol due to the hot conditions in Liverpool.
With temperatures expected to remain high throughout the afternoon, players will be given extra time to recover as part of World Rugby's extreme weather measures.
⭐ Save us to your Google Favourites for nonstop RUCK content! The biggest change is that half-time will last 20 minutes instead of the usual 15, giving both squads additional time to cool down and rehydrate before the second half.
There will also be two scheduled hydration breaks, each lasting three minutes, with play stopping around the 20-minute and 60-minute marks.
The measures are designed to reduce the risk of heat-related illness and ensure player welfare remains the priority during extreme conditions.
While the additional stoppages will extend the overall length of the match, ITV viewers will not be subjected to extra commercial breaks, with broadcaster plans remaining unchanged despite the longer intervals.
