Saracens confirm contract extension for Wales international

Tompkins has maintained a long-standing connection with the club, having progressed through the Saracens academy and made his first-team debut in the LV Cup in 2012.

A mainstay in the senior squad over multiple seasons, Tompkins has helped Saracens secure five Premiership titles, three European championships, and an LV Cup during his tenure.

He marked his 100th appearance for Saracens in 2019 with a hat-trick against Gloucester in the Premiership Rugby semi-final and played a key role in Saracens’ Premiership-winning campaign that year.

Since then, Tompkins has amassed over 200 appearances for the club, celebrating this milestone with a victory over Northampton Saints in the final game of 2024.

On the international stage, Tompkins has represented Wales since 2020, qualifying through his Welsh grandmother. He scored on his Six Nations debut and later featured in the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

Tompkins expressed his excitement about continuing in North London:

“I’m lucky enough to be able to stay here at Saracens which has been my home for some time. I’m excited for the future and to see this group grow.”

Director of Rugby Mark McCall also welcomed the news of the 30-year-old staying at his boyhood club:
