Sale Sharks boss Alex Sanderson has continued his clearout at the AJ Bell Stadium as the club confirmed their seventh summer departure in a statement today. The Sharks, who have already confirmed the signings of George Ford, Tom O'Flaherty and Jonny Hill are expected to announce a few more additions in the next few weeks.
Below, we look at the seven players leaving the club, which includes SIX senior internationals.
#1. AJ MacGinty to Bristol Bears
The 31-year-old USA international has signed a long-term deal with Gallagher Premiership side Bristol Bears.
#2. JP du Preez to Glasgow Warriors
The 27-year-old has agreed to join Glasgow Warriors from Sale Sharks for next season, subject to a visa being granted.
#3&4. Curtis Langdon & Cameron Neild to Worcester Warriors
Steve Diamond has made the Sale Sharks pair his first signings for Warriors for the 2022/23 season. England international hooker Langdon and back-row forward Neild both worked under Diamond during his successful ten-year stint as Sale’s Director of Rugby and will link up again with him at Sixways.
#5. Lood de Jager to Unknown
The 29-year-old has played 25 times for the club, scoring three tries, since he joined from the Pretoria-based Bulls after the 2019 World Cup.
#6. Faf de Klerk to Yokohama Canon Eagles
The Springbok scrum-half is moving on – to Japan – at the end of this season on a big money contract.
#7. Rohan Janse van Rensburg to Sharks
The 27-year-old, who has one Bok cap that came in 2016, will join the South African side from the English Premiership where he has been turning out for Sale Sharks since 2017.
