Will Carling reveals the player he thinks has 'flown under the radar' this Autumn

England completed a successful autumn with wins against South Africa, Japan and Australia marred only by a narrow defeat to New Zealand.

In the injury-enforced absences of Jonathan Joseph and Manu Tuilagi, Slade featured in all four autumn internationals, starting wins over Australia and South Africa and the single-point defeat to New Zealand.

And former England captain and centre Will Carling took to social media to praise Henry Slade's performances during the series.

He seems to have flown under many radars, but I think @Sladey_10 has had a very impressive November. Some great touches, crucial impact at breakdowns strong defense and is perfect skilful link between Teo/ Farrell/Tuilagi and outside backs 👏🏽👏🏽

Having fulfilled a variety of roles during his career, including inside centre, outside centre and fly-half, the 25-year-old now feels he has finally settled into his best position.

He said: "I'm pretty pleased with how I've gone in the autumn. I feel more and more comfortable and more and more confident after each game.

"I've had a good run of games at 13 now and that's been a thing I've had in my career, I have never been able to have a long run at one position, but I think at 13 I've been able to have a good crack at it now."
