Sale Sharks recorded an impressive 35-26 win against league-leaders Leicester Tigers on Sunday as Gallagher Premiership rugby made triumphant return to free-to-air television.
Second-place Saracens were also beaten 26-20 by a resurgent Wasps while the shock of the weekend came up at Bath as the bottom of the table side beat third-place and reigning champions Harlequins 21-17 at The Rec on Friday night.
Meanwhile, London Irish came from behind to overcome Exeter 18-14, Northampton bear Worcester 29-13, and Newcastle Falcons losing run continued with a disappointing 32-22 home defeat against Gloucester.
