The Rugby Paper has revealed that Telusa Veainu will likely still be a Leicester Tigers player despite a new deal yet to be signed.
The Tongan has been in fine form for Tigers and has established himself as a fan favourite at Welford Road since joining the club in 2015.
That means when it was reported that Northampton was trying to convince him across to the East Midlands, there was a degree of worry among the Leicester faithful.
However, it’s now been reported in today’s Rugby Paper that these rumourss were enough to bring Tigers officias back to the negotiating table.
Veainu reportedly turned down their initial offer, but this new offer is thought to the full-back’s liking.
It’s now highly likely he’ll sign a deal to stay with the club although nothing is yet to be finalised.
