Transfer Rumours: Malcolm Marx set for shock Premiership move

World Rugby Player of the Year nominee and Springbok Malcolm Marx has been linked with a shock move to the Gallagher Premiership this morning.

Rugby Inside Line has reported that Gloucester is in the hunt for a hooker and Marx is their chief target.

Marx who stands at 1.89 metres and 114 kilograms is a man-mountain in terms of size and has pace to burn for a big unit. There is no weakness in his game and the only concern would be wear and tear on the body and injuries, which are part of parcel of the modern game.

The Cherry & Whites are also thought to be looking at another South African in Jaco Visagie, who spent some of last season on loan at Kingsholm from the Bulls.

Gloucester head coach is Johan Ackermann has made three signings for next season so far with centre Chris Harris (Newcastle Falcons), prop Jamaal Ford-Robinson (Northampton Saints) and scrum-half Joe Simpson (Wasps)
