RUMOUR | England U20 star chased by two Premiership clubs

the 20-year-old son of Scotland legend Bryan Redpath, is wanted by both Bath and Exeter Chiefs.

Between a famous father and the fact he opted to represent England rather than Scotland, Redpath is a player who has garnered a lot of attention since coming through the Sale Sharks academy.

Standing at 6’2, Redpath offers a carrying threat in midfield but it is his fast thinking and vision that have made him a favourite for the Sharks.

He linked up with the England squad for training last week and was previously selected in England's 34 man squad for their tour to South Africa but was unable to travel with the squad because of injury.

Sale Sharks would like to hang onto him - but understand he may receive a more lucrative offer from elsewhere.

This powerhouse centre is one of the hottest prospects in the Gallagher Premiership who will look to shine for Worcester Warriors following Ben Teo’s departure to French outfit Toulon.
 
Lawrence combines formidable pace and strength with a top–draw skillset that makes him one of the most well-rounded midfield players to break onto the English scene for years.

The twenty-year-old has already been on the radar of Eddie Jones – having trained with the full England squad in the run-up to their 2018 summer tour to South Africa.

He has caught the eye of former England fly-half Andy Goode who has watched him in training stating, “Watch out! Ollie Lawrence is going to be some player.”

The Worcester Warriors star has recently returned to action following a lengthy injury lay-off in the 2018-2019 season and looks set to take England’s top flight by storm this year.

This 6’5 back row has already featured in the full England side with an impressive appearance off the bench - in last years 35-15 win over Japan - quite some achievement in his first season of Premiership rugby.

Hill has made a name for himself at Sixways with explosive defensive performances. His seven tries for the Warriors last season outlined what a dangerous attacking threat he can be going forward.

Breaking into the England set-up as a back row has never been such a daunting task with the likes of Curry, Underhill and Vunipola currently shining at international level but if Hill can pick up where he left off last season - he is sure to be in contention for
Jones Six Nations side.

The talented runner, son of former Scottish scrum-half Bryan Redpath, has already impressed Eddie Jones and was included in England’s 2018 tour to South Africa before an ACL injury prematurely put an end to his season.

Couple that with his nimble footwork and blistering pace and you have a player who looks ready to make the step-up to the national side come the Six Nations.

The nineteen-year-old has made a low-key return to the Sharks set-up this Autumn following a six-week ban for biting during the Under-20 World Cup in the summer.

Redpath will need to stay fit and available for the Sharks throughout this season if he is to break into the international scene next year.

Newcastle Falcons will look to the likes of Josh Hodge to spearhead their return to English rugby’s top flight. The 19-year-old full-back was one of the standout performers at the u20 WorldCup in the summer as he came away as top points scorer.

Hodge made eleven clean line breaks at the tournament in Argentina – the most by any player. This can be put down to his immense speed and footwork that has led to many Newcastle fans dubbing him as the new Matthew Tait – who also began his career at the Falcons.

Jones may look to Hodge as being the next in line to twenty-seven-year-old Elliot Daly at full-back.

Playing in the second tier of English rugby will make Hodge’s chances of inclusion slim – however against weaker opposition he is sure to be given more game time which will be vital to the development of this exciting prospect.

 The Philippine-born fly-half was taken into the England set up as an ‘apprentice player’ last season and has benefitted greatly from the mentoring of Owen Farrel and George Ford.

Smith is a running fly-half who loves to take the play to the opposition line and look for half breaks. This will add a new dimension to England’s attack who have looked to play off of Farrell in recent years. 

The Saracens fly-half has been the first name on Eddie Jones team sheet since his appointment in 2015 and it doesn’t look like he will fall out of favour in the next four years. So Smith will be looking to take George Ford's role in the England set-up as a versatile playmaker who can regularly interchange between fly-half and inside-centre.
