Wales took control of Pool D with a dramatic and historic 29-25 victory over Australia.
First-half tries from Hadleigh Parkes and Gareth Davies, as well as the boots of Dan Biggar and Rhys Patchell put them in control at half-time – with Australia crossing through Adam Ashley-Cooper.
The second-half belonged to the Wallabies though – with Dane Haylett-Petty and Michael Hooper scoring.
BEST PLAYERS:
Australia: David Pocock – He showed just how valuable he is to the Wallabies – making nine tackles and winning four turnovers (including a couple of penalties).

Wales: Alun Wyn Jones – The skipper didn’t give an inch and led his side bravely. He made an astonishing 22 tackles on his record-breaking 130th cap for Wales.

WORST PLAYERS:
Australia: Bernard Foley – His selection had Wallabies fans baffled. He conceded two turnovers and missing two tackles before he was replaced after just 44 minutes. The Aussies were much improved after he went off.
Wales: Josh Adams – Wasn’t really involved as much as he’d like. In defence, he missed three tackles and conceded a silly penalty while going forward the speedster never really found any space to operate.
