RUMOUR | England U20 star chased by two Premiership clubs

Marcus Smith – 20

In the 2018-2019 Marcus Smith made the Harlequins number 10 shirt his own.

The Philippine-born fly-half was taken into the England set up as an ‘apprentice player’ last season and has benefitted greatly from the mentoring of Owen Farrel and George Ford.

Smith is a running fly-half who loves to take the play to the opposition line and look for half breaks. This will add a new dimension to England’s attack who have looked to play off of Farrell in recent years.

The Saracens fly-half has been the first name on Eddie Jones team sheet since his appointment in 2015 and it doesn’t look like he will fall out of favour in the next four years. So Smith will be looking to take George Ford’s role in the England set-up as a versatile playmaker who can regularly interchange between fly-half and inside-centre.

With forty-six Premiership appearances under his belt and 364 points to his name –S mith is already one of the household names in English club rugby.
