Scotland man of the match Finn Russell rushes home to Paris for first baby’s arrival

Finn Russell insisted he was having “great fun” on his Scotland return after a terrific performance in the 52-29 win over Argentina.

The experienced fly-half, who risked missing the birth of his first born to play in the match at the weekend, was overlooked for the first two autumn Tests.

“I’m enjoying myself, it’s great fun to be a part of and we ran in some great tries,” he told Amazon Prime.

“It was a good performance at times from us. We still need to learn to play for the full 80 minutes.

“It’s great to be back, I love playing at Murrayfield.

“It gives us confidence, there’s lots we need to learn from and build from. The last couple of Tests, we’ve attacked well and our defence has been good.”

He rushed back to Paris via private plane on Saturday evening to be alongside partner Emma Canning with Russell Jnr due any day now

The moment they finally get to meet their new arrival isn’t far away either with Emma nine months pregnant.

Brutal comeback:

After a post showing pictures of herself and Russell over the years, the troll commented: “Must be invigorating to know your only talent is to be in a relationship with a talented person.”

Emma, who is an experienced athlete competing for Great Britain and Scotland in the heptathlon, brilliantly hit back: “Actually – there’s room for two Scottish athletes in our relationship. Lol.”
