Only a select few legends from the annals of rugby carry more clout than France powerhouse Sebastien Chabal.

From 2000 to 2011, Chabal dominated the rugby scene as a superstar, proudly representing his country. Renowned for his mighty beard, flowing locks, and ferocious tackles, he affectionately earned the moniker of the ‘caveman’ and achieved unparalleled popularity among French sports enthusiasts.

While his domestic achievements were notable, Chabal truly showcased his brilliance on the international stage, proudly donning the French jersey 62 times during the same period.

Revered as a talismanic figure, he played a crucial role in France’s victorious campaign in the Six Nations Championship and their remarkable journey to the Rugby World Cup semi-finals in 2007.

It’s safe to say the post on Reddit has got PLENTY of comments, with fans around the world simply stunned by Chabal’s appearance.

One fan wrote: “Even being told directly that that’s Chabal, he looks so different I barely believe it,”

A second commented: “Man he totally looks like a different person. Wouldn’t have recognised him if it wasn’t for the broken nose”

Updated 2027 Rugby World Cup draw is good news for England and Steve Borthwick

The men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 in Australia will feature 24 teams after the World Rugby Council approved historic reimagination of the competition format, window and timing.

The new format will feature six pools of four teams, with a round of 16 added prior to the quarter-finals.

This will enable the tournament window to be reduced from seven to six weeks, while promoting a rhythm that builds momentum across the pool phase and respects the same minimum number of rest days between matches as at France 2023.

If the 2027 Rugby World Cup Draw was made tomorrow, this is what the Pools may look like (based on rankings)
