Sir Clive Woodward reveals his Six Nations players to watch

Sir Clive Woodward, in his column for the Daily Mail, picked out the players to watch in each of the squads ahead of the Championship.

For England, he selected England and Exeter tighthead Harry Williams.

“England need to develop some strength in depth in the front row.“ said Williams

“I’m looking to see Williams push Dan Cole all the way for the tight head spot.

“Fast and athletic around the park he offers more than Cole there but lets see if he can scrummage at the top level. “

Former Hartpury College student and Italy forward Sebastian Negri was singled out for praise by the coach turned pundit.

Woodward said: “Hartpury College is proving a useful hunting ground for Italy with Negi a real prospect after two years there in Gloucestershire, while Jake Polledri is also in contention.

“Negri is a strong guy built like a blindside but has real pace and athleticism.”

For Ireland, Woodward went for uncapped speedster Jordan Lamour while for Wales he identified fly-half Rhys Patchell as someone who could make an impact.

North of the border, he’s backed Hamish Watson to star again for Scotland.

Finally, he’s picked Kevin Gourdon for France.
