Referee appointments for round two of the 2022 Guinness Six Nations, including the Italy vs England referee in Rome on Sunday.

Saturday, 12 February, 2022:

Wales v Scotland referee

Referee: Nic Berry (RA)
Assistant Referee 1: Wayne Barnes (RFU)
Assistant Referee 2: Chris Busby (IRFU)
TMO: Brett Cronan (RA)

A former scrum-half, Nic Berry spent nearly a decade playing professional rugby, first for the Reds in Super Rugby and then for Racing 92 and Wasps in Europe. He was forced to retire in 2012, aged 28, following a series of concussion and subsequently made the switch to refereeing.

France v Ireland referee

TMO: Ben Whitehouse (WRU)

He started refereeing in 1999 but only became a full-time ref in 2015. He refereed at his first Rugby World Cup in 2015 and took charge of the Super Rugby final in 2018. In 2018 he was awarded World Rugby Referee of the Year.

Italy v England referee

Referee: Damon Murphy (RA)
Assistant Referee 1: Andrew Brace (IRFU)
Assistant Referee 2: Craig Evans (WRU)
TMO: Brian MacNeice (IRFU)

He started in rugby as a player. Murphy competed for Brothers Old Boys, Rebels and Queensland. He was first selected for Australia Sevens in 2004 and he captained the team during his six year international career. Fellow referee Nic Berry convinced Murphy to become an official at a wedding they attended.
