In a statement, the Italian stat wrote: “In the first minutes of our beautiful, rough win against Scotland, I injured my finger. Tests carried out since then showed a displaced fracture.
“After trying everything to finish the tournament with the team against Wales I was forced to go home for emergency surgery.
“I wish to thank Dr. Aymeric André and his entire team of @medipolegaronne for their welcome and accompaniment.
“The surgery went very well.
“From now on, I’m looking forward. I’ll be the first Squadra supporter this Saturday afternoon.
“I will also do my best to get back as soon as possible with my @stadetoulousainrugby club to finish out this exciting season.
