Antoine Dupont, the scrumhalf for France, recently underwent surgery due to a fractured jaw sustained during Thursday night’s victory over Namibia.

The injury occurred during a severe head-to-head collision with Namibia’s captain, Johan Deysel. Initially issued a yellow card, Deysel’s punishment was subsequently upgraded to a red card following a review by the match officials.

An FFR communication on Saturday morning read: “Following his injury contracted during the France-Namibia match, Antoine Dupont was operated on September 22 around 23:00 at the CHU Purpan in Toulouse.

” In a few days, he will be able to return to the France team in a process of gradual sports recovery and under medical supervision.”
