Team GB 7-25 New Zealand: Two yellow cards cost British girls dearly

Team GB are still in with a chance of  winning Bronze after their semi-final against New Zealand fell apart following two yellow cards.

Portia Woodman continued her excellent tournament to open the scoring and put New Zealand 5-0 up.

After conceding Great Britain nevertheless got back level with Alice Richardson dotting down. Katy McLean added the extras but immediately New Zealand powered up the field and Ruby Tui put them back in front, 7-10.

Just as the hooter sounded McLean received a yellow card for shirt-pulling in the chase for a loose ball before Tui was taken out in the air and Amy WilsonHardy was also given a yellow. With a two-player advantage New Zealand exploit the overlap and extend their lead, 7-15.

After the restart Woodman secured her hat-trick before a fifth try through Manuel secured the win, 7-25.
