The 2020 Six Nations Strangest Moments: Oddball Characters and Memorable Moments

5. ‘Sausages’

Ellis Genge labelled England’s critics “sausages” in response to claims Eddie Jones should be replaced as head coach, with the Calcutta Cup match-winner issuing a stern response towards their Six Nations doubters.

6. The fondle

We expected a fiesty encounter at Twickenham between England and Wales but things took an odd turn when England prop Joe Marler was spotted fondling Wales skipper Alun Wyn Jones during a first-half scuffle.

The footage has since gone viral on social media, which led to the prop getting a 10-week ban.

7. Fixing the collar

The Welsh second-row shows why he’s captain as he adjusts team-mate’s collar before Six Nations clash against Ireland.

8. Eddie Jones’ rant

The Aussie was given a rap over knuckles by his bosses for suggesting referee Ben O’Keeffe favoured Wales.

“At the end, we were 13 against 16, it’s hard. When you have got a three-man advantage, you are going to do some damage. We had a numerical disadvantage, so it was tough,” ranted Jones.

RFU chief executive Bill Sweeney issued an apology to O’Keeffe and revealed Jones had been spoken to about his post-match outburst.
