“The Next Generation” – What are the Kids of the 2003 Rugby World Cup England Squad Up To?

3. Kyran Bracken

Breaking the trend of football-playing sons, is Kyran Bracken’s son Charlie. The 19-year-old is apart of the Saracens Academy, and is an up-and-coming scrum half to keep an eye on in the foreseeable future. Bracken broke onto the scene with the England U18s, and more recently with the England U20s side, making four appearances for his country throughout the 2022 Summer internationals.

Bracken impressed throughout the 2023 U20s Six Nations. England U20s won their first three matches of the competition, with victories over Scotland, Italy and Wales presenting positive signs for England’s future stars. However, back-to-back defeats in the last two rounds saw England lose to France, and eventual Grand Slam winners Ireland, who mirrored the Irish senior stars’ impressive dominance.

At club level, Bracken has been getting increased attention at the StoneX Stadium, and made two off-the-bench appearances in the 2022/23 Premiership Rugby Cup.

With such promise at such a young age, Bracken could well be following his father’s footsteps all the way to an England senior cap as his career progresses.

Bracken also received praise across social media, after he gave his England U20s shirt away to a young fan, after the England v Scotland match in this year’s Six Nations.
