“The Next Generation” – What are the Kids of the 2003 Rugby World Cup England Squad Up To?

4. Paul Grayson

The 2003 Rugby World Cup winner, was a lifelong Northampton Saints player. A true ‘one club man’ Grayson made 259 appearances for Saints, between 1993 and 2005. The fly half ended his career as Northampton all-time top points scorer, with a grand total of 2,786 points for the Saints. Grayson has had three son’s and all of which are involved with Northampton Saints so far in their rugby careers.

Paul’s eldest son James, is replicating his father’s career by leading Northampton Saints at fly half in the Gallagher Premiership. Grayson has since made 88 appearances for the Midlands club, and has already built an impressive points tally, with 595 points on the board so far in his Saints career. James Grayson has his shot at the Gallagher Premiership title this year, as Saints have reached the play-offs, and take on Saracens in this tomorrow’s semi-final at the Stone X.

Paul’s two other son’s Ethan and Joel are in the Northampton Saints’ development set-up. Ethan is on the first team fringes, and has made five appearances for the club. He currently resides on loan at Bedford Blues in the RFU Championship. Joel is hoping to progress into the first team like his brothers and father before him, and complete Grayson’s next generation of stars at Franklin’s Gardens.
