Sam Davies faces the fight of his life to make Wales’s World Cup squad after being passed over for Warren Gatland’s get-together of candidates for Japan.
The Wales head coach had a meeting, inviting 60 players, where he detailed his plans for the year leading up to the Rugby World Cup.
The most glaring omission is – according to Wales Online – that of young flyhalf Sam Davies
But Thomas Young did receive a summons to the meeting, along with fellow exile Owen Williams.
Ospreys back rower James King, who has started just two games for Wales over the past five years, was another who attended.
Davies will no doubt be disappointed not to have been called.
