Steve Borthwick revealed his hopes that three injured players may yet be fit in time to contest selection to take on Scotland.

England once again came from behind at halftime in the Six Nations, narrowly defeating a determined and energetic Wales team at Twickenham.

Similar to their previous match in Rome, England found themselves trailing at halftime, with Wales securing a penalty try and an Alex Mann score, putting them in a position to potentially secure their first win at Twickenham since 2015.

Fraser Dingwall’s try in the corner brought England within a point, and George Ford’s crucial penalty ultimately secured the victory.

George Ford redeemed himself for his earlier inability to convert Ben Earl’s first-half try.

“Hopefully George Martin will be available for selection after his knee injury,” said Borthwick.

“Manu Tuilagi is not too far away, and we’re hopeful as well that Luke Cowan-Dickie will be ready to be considered for the next selection.”

Four players Steve Borthwick should drop – and who should replace them for Scotland

Not everyone left a lasting impression at Twickenham, and four noticeable changes have been proposed for the upcoming clash against Scotland at Murrayfield next weekend.

#1. Fraser Dingwall

Telegraph 5/10: “The try covered a multitude of sins – from George North running straight through him, to not holding his line before passing to Daly.”

Planet Rugby 6/10: “Not a huge carrying threat but a smart operator. Took his try well and is a good distributor on the gain line, although he needs to show more in the rest of the Six Nations.”

Replacement: Ollie Lawrence (If fit)
