Barbarians to borrow England and Wales players after Covid-19 regulations breach

England are set to lend players from their big squad to the Barbarians to ensure Sunday’s Six Nations warm-up match at Twickenham can go ahead.

This is after the invitational club booted out 12 players for breaking Covid-19 protocols as they left their hotel bubble contrary to team protocols to have dinner at a central London restaurant.

Multiple national newspapers have reported that former England captain Chris Robshaw was among them and will now be denied his Twickenham swansong before heading to America.

Barbarian FC expressed their “extreme disappointment” in the conduct of the players who breached the regulations.

A trio of Cardiff Blues players have also received shock call-ups to the Barbarians squad to face England on Sunday.

Back-rower Will Boyde, centre Max Llewellyn and outside back Ioan Davies have answered an SOS to join up with the invitational side in the wake of the Covid scandal that emerged yesterday.
