Toby Flood and six other players who could have played for Germany instead

Here, RUCK.co.uk takes a look at 6 players that could have played for Germany, starting with Toby Flood.

Scroll through the gallery above to take a look.

1. Toby Flood

His maternal grandfather was German actor Albert Lieven, who appeared in The Guns of Navarone. Due to his 60 England cap, the only way the fly-half can qualify for Germany is if he plays for the country in the 2020 Olympics sevens qualifiers, to be held in 2019.

2. Matt Kvesic

Kvesic was born in Iserlohn, Germany, where his father was posted with the British Army. He is of Croatian descent on his father’s side and Polish on his mother’s. The flanker represented England at international level and played for several youth representative sides before making his debut for the senior team in 2013.
