Top 10 handsome rugby shirts of the 1990’s

It took a lot of strenuous thinking and some savage cuts (sorry, fans of Saracens 1998/99 home strip – you’re about to be disappointed) but we managed to cobble together our top ten.
What were your favourite shirts of the 1990’s?!…

10. Sale Sharks, home, 1998-1999

In this scribe’s humble opinion, the Sharks have never had a more classy looking shirt…

9. Newcastle Falcons, home, 1998-1999

The Falcons gave boasted some exquisite kits over the years, but the 1998 shirt was the one that will resonate with rugby fans with Jonny Wilkinson donning it in the early days of his career…

8. Leinster, home, 1995-1998

Everything a Leinster shirt should be: busy, attractive and bold…

7. Worcester, home, 1999-2000

Far superior to their shirts since, it looks beautiful…

6. Brumbies, away, 1999-2001

Colour, colour, everywhere. We approve.

5. Leicester, away, 1997-1999

Measured, almost 1980’s-esque but is one of the shirts that always comes to mind when you think of the early Premiership days.

4. Bath Rugby, home, 1993-1994

A drop-dead gorgeous, classic blue, black and white hooped shirt from Bath. Not much has changed fast forwarding 20 years but there is something special about the look of this shirt.

3. Munster, home, 1999-2000

The archetypal Munster Shirt. The classic red never looked better…

2. Stormers, home, 1999

This attractive Super Rugby shirt looks ahead of its time…

1. Wasps, away, 1998

I don’t know what it is, but Wasps shirts always catch the eye, especially this one…
