Here's an update on the condition of four currently injured England players ahead of their Six Nations clash with Italy this weekend.
1. Jack Nowell
The winfer could return to action in early March after four months out following toe surgery. The 27-year-old has not played since helping Exeter win the Premiership final last October as the Chiefs sealed a domestic and European double. Nowell has missed nine club matches, as well as all of England's Autumn Nations Cup campaign and the Six Nations.
2. Manu Tuilagi
The 29-year-old, who moved to the North West following his dramatic exit from Leicester Tigers, is reportedly being lined up to join Racing 92 in the TOP14 ahead of the 2021/22 season. He is currently recovering from surgery on his achilles tendon that will rule him out until at least May.
3. Sam Underhill
The 24-year-old flanker only has 22 caps but is widely recognized as one of the best backrow players in the world, such has been the impact of his performances in an England squad. Forced to withdraw before the tournament, Bath boss Stuart Hooper has revealed Underhill should be back before the end of the Six Nations.
4. Alfie Barbeary
The powerhouse forward, who is equally adept in the back-row as at hooker, has caught the eye with outstanding form in the latter part of 2020, with many tipping him for inclusion in Eddie Jones’ plans moving forward. However, the rampaging No.8 will have to wait for his chance after undergoing ankle surgery in January that'll rule him out until at least early March.
