"No rush" - Eddie Jones gives Sam Underhill update following specialist advice

Underhill was left out of England’s Six Nations squad because head coach Eddie Jones was concerned at the number of knocks to the head the 25-year-old had taken in 2021.

Just days later, the flanker suffered his fourth concussion in eight months against Leinster Following treatment, Underhill went to the changing rooms for a head injury assessment, but did not return to take the place of his replacement, Josh McNally.

Underhill was previously forced to step down from rugby in 2018 for two months following a concussion suffered against Australia in late 2017.

Back then, the flanker analysed his defensive technique during his period out of action, knowing that on both occasions he had been knocked out while making a tackle.

However, the old problems have resurfaced with Underhill once again on the sidelines following specialist advice with rumours suggesting he could step down form rugby permanently.

Jones has revealed that Underhill won't be rushed back into the England set-up until he can prove he is healthy and playing regular for his club.

Hopefully, the retirement rumours prove to be false and we see big Sam back on the pitch in the very near future.
