TRANSFER | Harlequins close in on exciting winger

Harlequins are reportedly set to sign South African speedster Tyrone Green after he quit Super Rugby franchise The Lions.

According to Neil Fissler from The Rugby Paper, the 22-year-old, who can play full-back, wing, fly-half or centre, is on his way to Twickenham Stoop.

Paul Gustard has already confirmed the signing of two South Africans with centre Andre Esterhuizen and prop Wilco Louw joining.

They’ve also re-signed Joe Gray from Saracens and yesterday confirmed Nathan Earle has signed a new deal.

Harlequins have welcomed more false dawns than most clubs – as highlighted by their misfortune in the transfer market when it comes to exciting signings that ultimately proved disappointing.

They signed the England international prop from Northampton in 2013 with then boss Conor O’Shea saying: “Not only is Paul talented, at his age he will only get better.” However, after two disappointing seasons at the Stoop, making just 19 appearances, he left to rejoin Gloucester.
