Transfer Rumours | Leigh Halfpenny could be set for Premiership switch

Wales fullback Leigh Halfpenny could finally join persistently interested Bath for the 2020/21 Gallagher Premiership season.

The 31-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season with Williams arriving from Saracens for the 2020-21 campaign.

Halfpenny signed a three-year deal with Scarlets in August 2017, turning down an offer from Bath, to return to Wales from Toulon.

Halfpenny had a tour around the Bath training ground at that time and was thought to be interested in making the move before the WRU increased their offer.

Although Scarlets have insisted they’d like to hang onto Halfpenny, they already have strong wing and full-back resources with other Wales internationals Johnny McNicholl and Steff Evans, while teenager Ryan Conbeer is also viewed as a fine prospect.

It’s thought that the Premiership will finally get their man, continuing their recent history of signing Wales internationals with Taulupe Faletau and Jamie Roberts plying their trade at the Rec currently.
