Transfer Rumours | Sale target Saracens star

Saracens prop Vincent Koch has reportedly told his agent that he is desperate to join Sale Sharks.

RUCK understands there has been contact with the players agent and that there is a willingness from all parties to get a deal done for the 29-year-old Springbok international to move to the AJ Bell Stadium, with talks expected to resume between the clubs this week.

If the move is confirmed, he’d be joining a club with a strong South African core, which includes fellow World Cup-winners Lood de Jager and his best mate Faf de Klerk.

There had been another report from Netwerk24 in South Africa that the tighthead would be joining the Super Rugby franchise Bulls, but we understand the World Cup winner wants to continue plying his trade in the Gallagher Premiership.

Another two clubs who are rumoured to be interested in his services are Harlequins and Montpellier, but there is no firm offer on the table from either club.

POLL:

Koch joined Sarries from Super Rugby franchise the Stormers in the summer of 2016 and has grown into a strong crowd favourite at Allianz Park.

He was part of the squad which retained the European Cup in 2017, earning man of the match in the semi-final, and has since won another alongside two Premiership titles.
