“Two Games in Two Hours” South African Prop Puts in a SHIFT for Stormers

DHL Stormers prop Juan ‘Brok’ Harris was undoubtedly the rugby workhorse of the weekend, as the 38-year-old played in two matches within the space of just two hours. Harris made two off-the-bench appearances last Saturday, first for the Stormers in the Champions Cup, and then for his provincial club Western Province in the Currie Cup.

Harris helped his Stormers side to a 32-28 victory over Harlequins, as the Cape Town side march on to the quarter finals of their first ever Champions Cup campaign. The Stormers are joined by the Cell C Sharks, as the two remaining South African sides in the pinnacle club competition, after the Sharks eliminated Munster by 50-35.

Shortly after the Stormers secured their place in the last eight of the Champions Cup, Harris took to the field in Western Provinces’ 32-13 defeat to the Griquas. Western Province sit at fifth in the Currie Cup table, with the Griquas closing the gap on them, with this win taking the Northern Cape side now up to sixth.

Harris’ impressive feat caught the attention of the rugby fans, who have shared their support for the veteran prop on social media. The double-duty is rarely ever seen in professional rugby, and resembles a grass roots side calling in a last-minute replacement to get the job done. Top shift Brok!
