RUMOUR | Wales U20 centre could be on his way to Exeter Chiefs

Welsh centre Corey Baldwin, who has been dubbed ‘the next Jonathan Davies’, is being linked with a move to Exeter Chiefs, according to The Rugby Paper.

Despite being earmarked for international honours, that hasn’t stopped Chiefs boss Rob Baxter trying to bring the 21-year-old to Sandy Park.

Should Baldwin, who can also play on the wing, make the decision to hop across the border to the Gallagher Premiership he’d be English-qualified having been born in Camberley, Surrey.

It would be a huge blow to the WRU, who are trying to keep their stars within the four regions, if Baldwin was to end up representing England at senior level.

Baldwin came through the Scarlets Academy pathway, representing the region at U16 and U18 level before making his senior Scarlets bow against the Newport Gwent Dragons in the Anglo-Welsh Cup, scoring a try on debut

In the same season, he made his Wales U20 debut, scoring a try against Scotland in the Six Nation.
