Wales vs Fiji player ratings: Autumn Nations Series

Wales vs Fiji player ratings as Wayne Pivac’s men were made to work incredibly hard for their 38-23 win against the Pacific Islanders, who played 20 minutes with 13 men.

The flying Fijians made a bright start and took a 10-0 lead after fly-half Ben Volavola converted Waisea Nayacalevu’s try before slotting a penalty.

Things then started to go quickly wrong for the visitors as Wales rallied with hooker Ryan Elias powering over with Dan Biggar converting before Fiji winger Eroni Sau was sent off for striking the head of Johnny Williams.

Volavola had extended Fiji’s advantage with another penalty, but Wales would lead 14-13 at the break after Kieran Hardy’s try was converted by Biggar.

Another penalty allowed Volavola to put Fiji back in front before the fly-half slotted a second conversion after Nayacalevu raced away for his second try, 13-23.

However, while down to 13 once again, the home side got two quickfire unconverted tries through Elias and Alex Cuthbert to take a one point lead heading into the final 10 minutes.

Speedster Louis Rees-Zammit and Liam Williams then scored two late tries to make the win safe.

More to follow.
